I took this blank slat:

and composited this IN, checked tile across and down image canvas box.

Then I went back to IM with this 300x300 transparent gif because my slat is smaller than the image I'm going to use...

I composited the slat North +0+0

Then I composited the image Northwest +0+25 to get this:

I'll be taking that back and changing the transparent parts to another color and outputting it as a jpg to bring down the k's.

I cropped out of piece of the scarf to make the background that I composited in the slat. You can also composite images or backgrounds over the slats. I just prefer using a piece of the image that's going to be in the final product :))
