![]() This effect and the resulting tute were originally discovered and written by Patty, WeeCat1, and posted in mslauralou's ng I have made a few changes to present it here, but Patty's the one who did all the work at developing this technique. This will also be a nice effect with some of the fontbats :)) |
| 1.) First choose a font that's pretty thick | I used Longdon Decorative, found at IM |
| 2.) Take a transparent gif to IM | This one is 500 w by 100 h and should work for most names/banners. |
|
3.) Annotate: Gravity Center +0+0 Fontcolor: none Strokecolor: white Stroke width: 2 Point size: 55 for my example...you'll have to adjust it for the font you use. |

|
4.) Next, go to composite and put the url for a gold sparkle in the box Compose: ATOP and scroll down and check the tile across and down the image canvas box, click on composite and saved the temp url** | I used this one from Aylana's Bring On The Glitter because it's low k and so pretty! ![]() |
5.) Use your back key and go all the way back to annotate. Change Fill color to white Strokecolor to none Stroke width to 1 (this will give a transparent stroke width) leave everything else the same and click on annotate. |

| 6.) Go to composite and comp a different sparkle as before. | I used one of Aylana's Christmas
ones.![]() |
|
7.) Click on the composite tab, put the url to the temp outline in the box Compose ATOP...make sure to uncheck the tile across and down the image canvas box... Trim (under the transform tab) to get rid of any excess, and output as gif, multi-frame file. If you're leary of trimming an animated gif at IM, then output and take it to GIFworks and use smartcrop. |
